Gregg Hurwitz - Virtual Event

GREGG HURWITZ is the New York Times bestselling author of the Orphan X books, including Into the Fire. Critically acclaimed, his novels have graced top ten lists and have been published in 22 languages. Additionally, he's written screenplays for and sold scripts to many of the major studios, and written, developed, and produced television for various networks. Hurwitz resides in Los Angeles.

Gregg will be joined by two experts he turns to for research. Joining him will be Bret Nelson, ER doctor, and Brian Shiers, mixed martial arts expert and mindful awareness therapist. 

Bret Nelson is a professor of Emergency Medicine and System Chief of Emergency Ultrasound at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York. He has been invited to speak on a variety of medical and education topics around the world. He has written several emergency medicine textbooks and dozens of articles in the medical literature. Brian Shiers is recognized as a Certified Mindfulness  Facilitator by the International Mindfulness Teacher’s  Association, and is an Authorized Teacher for the  UCLA Mindful Awareness Research Center (MARC).  With an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology /  Exercise Science and a Master's degree in  Psychology with an emphasis on Interpersonal  Neurobiology, Brian specializes in the body’s role in  developing a flexible mind and emotional intelligence.  Brian provides mindfulness programs for Disney  Animation Studios, and specializes in emotion  regulation and optimal performance for the FBI’s  Hostage Rescue Team as well as law enforcement  agencies across the nation. He currently serves as a Mindfulness Skills Specialist and Primary Therapist at  Westside DBT specializing in anxiety disorders.
