This month we'll be looking at two relatively recent Yorkshire mystery series that rightfully garner great acclaim within the crime fiction world. Peter Robinson's Alan Banks series took a massive leap up in quality with In a Dry Season - the tenth, largely considered his best DCI Alan Banks crime novel. If you asked my staff what my all-time favorite book in the store to hand-sell is, they would all tell you it's Case Histories - the first Jackson Brodie novel - written by highly-respected "literary" author Kate Atkinson. I'm not entirely sure that it's my all-time favorite but it's close enough that *they* all think that. British crime fiction continues to be some of the best out there, and I don't think that you'll be disappointed by either of these contemporary Yorkshire mysteries. Enjoy! — McKenna

Bonus Recommendation:
This brand-new series debut by Russ Thomas was in the top ten lists for several staff members in 2020. New in paperback, we can't recommend it highly enough.

Bonus Recommendation:
For something completely different in tone, this historical mystery series set at Haworth Parsonage in 1845 features the Bronte sisters as main characters. Also highly recommended.
